League of Legends is easily the most popular video game. Thousands of fans and players alike are ready to fill eSport stadiums just to watch their favorite players go head to head. They watch them on giant screens compete for million dollar prizes and complete bragging rights. It's a sport on its own at this point, and competitively, it's an absolutely exciting thing to watch.
That said, League of Legend s isn't a game without its drawbacks. The game contains Champions that can easily get on player's nerves. What can be more annoying or troublesome can be the items these Champions use. Now, some of these items have obviously been cast off by Riot for a multitude of reasons. However, that doesn't set them off the hook for being useless weapons to begin with. While some players do know to avoid these kinds of weapons, it's not immediately evident to all players. And truthfully, these bad weapons shouldn't be in the game, to begin with.
If you're an avid player or just passing by, you'll find a compiled list of the 15 most useless weapons to be used by players in League of Legends . Moreover, with weapons that aren't so great come those that are much better to balance them. Also compacted into this list is the 10 best and most popular items that can be found within the game. Thus, here's 15 Useless League Of Legends Items (And The 10 Best). Let us know if we forgot any.
25 Useless: The Ohmwrecker
via: euwleagueoflegends.com
The stats of the Ohmwrecker are pretty bad. Essentially every other Tank-like item can already reset turret agro and dive. That said, it's an expensive item and isn't profitable to use anyway. It's practically useless given how you can tank turrets without even needing to buy the Ohmwrecker in the first place.
Most players who'd even think to use this item are simply trolling.
Not to mention, there's been no efforts to really change the item from the game. It's bedeviled players of all sorts since season 3 and has yet to be really seen in tournaments.
24 Useless: Jaurim's Fist
via: theriftherald
It's an item for the laning phase to begin with, which means it loses its stacking bonus when being completed with a higher-powered item. Moreover, it can't grant much health, compared to the Phage or even Spectral Cowl which can provide much better MS boots an power spikes, respectively.
Jaurim's Fist doesn't even come close to being gold efficient even when it's fully stacked. Players usually don't ever purchase this unless they require it as a component or if they were incredibly far behind in gold and needed better stats.
23 Best: Luden's Echo
via: twitter.com
Luden's Echo is a reliable tool if you're looking to move fast while wanting to gain some Ability Power. It's a charged weapon that gets stronger from movement or casting. Once it's fully charged, it unleashes 100 bonus magic damage to the first enemy Champion it strikes.
Unlike most Mage items, Luden's Echo provides a substantial boost in movement speed for Mage Champions.
Everyone who plays League of Legends knows that speed and constant mobility is the trick to surviving and lasting longer than most. Luden's Echo just about does that for all mages.
22 Useless: Avarice Blade
via: leagueoflegendswiki.com
Avarice's Blade is an old but outdated item in League of Legends . When it existed, Riot was known to remove hidden power via gold gains. Previous patches were unable to change much about Avarice Blade and already it was once the only item that lost something if one were to upgrade it.
Most fans assume that the continued existence of the Avarice Blade is a mistake on behalf of Riot, or just an ignored part of the game.
Even then, half of the items that the Avarice Blade can build into have been removed from League of Legends by Riot.
21 Best: Statik Shiv
via: leagueoflegends.com
This is the prime time weapon for players wanting to build an effective Champion that deals quick damage while maintaining some good speed stats. The Statik Shiv, when reaching its maximum at 100 stacks can deal a massive hit as Shiv Lightning.
Statik's Shiv can be charged much faster with auto attacks.
With Shiv Lightning, your Statik Shiv can release a total of 5 sparks to nearby enemies, dealing a total damage of 60-160 magic damage and up to 264 damage to nearby minions.
20 Useless: Rylai's Crystal Scepter
via: redbull.com
Its wiki page says "advanced item," but players argue differently. It has very debatable stats, to begin with, and there are much better mage items. It suffered a questionable amount of nerfing from Riot.
There are many counters to Rylai's Crystal Scepter such as Quicksilver Sash and Mikael's Crucible.
Certain players who practice with Champions such as Viktor the Machine Herald who could use an un-nerfed item like Rylai's Crystal Scepter are at odds, relying on more expensive items to do so.
19 Best: Liandry's Torment
via: leagueoflegends.com
This is a given when it comes to spell damage. It has +80 Ability power and awards players with just about +300 health. Equipping it can deal a lot of damage to powerful Champions that can get in your way.
It has a modest cost of 3100 gold but can really inflict much damage on buffer enemies such as Zyra and Lulu. Also, with that +300 health, you can be sure to remain in the fight long enough to deal enough damage and to support your team.
18 Useless: Heart Of Gold
via: theScoreesports.com
When I looked up this item to get more information I scoffed a little. After doing some more research, I get why it was removed. The item itself is so plain.
Heart of Gold gave +200 HP for 825 Gold? That's a recipe for disaster.
Heart of Gold was an incredibly easy item to acquire. It was cost-efficient and very easy to build something out of it, but just existed. There's really no surprise then as to why it got removed.
17 Useless: Cloth Armor
via: wallpaperup.com
Not that Cloth Armor is necessarily bad, but wearing it can get useless fast. It's fairly limited to the amount of Champions that can use it. Most fragile Champions like Vayne would have a good reason to wear it, but again, it becomes completely useless if one were to have a healer as support.
That said, much of its uselessness comes from not being able to build it into anything later on in the game. Most Champions would only use it in the beginning minutes of the game, only to sell it for more gold later on.
16 Best: Zhonya's Hourglass
via: comicbook.com
Zhonya's Hourglass seems to be agreed on as the best item League of Legends seems to offer. With a cooldown of 120 seconds, its unique abilities allow for this item to make up for it. With this item equipped you can burst through powerful Champions like Fizz or Diana.
Using this burst, your team can gather around a Champion and easily target them.
Moreover, you can take on much more damage than intended with that +45 armor while returning some of that damage back to your enemies with +70 power.
15 Useless: Shojin's Spear
via: surrenderat20.com
Not much is known about this item. Riot removed it from the game before any more players would get upset about it. Although most were divided on its deletion from the game, most are happy.
I asked my friend who was an avid player about this item, she didn't know what it was.
It was an abused item by already powerful Champions such as Irelia and would make the game harder than it already is. For the moment, some are wishing for its return while others aspire for something different.
14 Useless: Trinity Force
via: youtube.com
It'll take you a long time for you to get this item. Whether you want to wait to build it, sell some of your precious other items for it or simply buy it, it's an effort to simply get it. That said, using it requires a lot of skill.
While striving and saving up for this one item, you'll be passing on other equally as good items.
Be that as it may, it has quite a bit of stats and considerable advantages with a powerful ability. That said, it doesn't excuse its overpriced gold cost.
13 Best: Guardian Angel
via: dotesports.com
The Guardian Angel is in itself an explanatory item. It'll protect you from the worse of situations and can always be relied on in times of need. With its +40 Attack Damage and +30 armor, it pairs well with its relatively cheap price at 2400 Gold.

Need a second chance?
The great thing about this is that once you receive a deadly blow, you'll be in a sort of Stasis field for only 4 seconds. After that, you'll be restored to 50% health an 30% mana.
12 Useless: Runaan's Hurricane
via: twitter.com
Most players don't know it's bad, but it wouldn't take long to know of its uselessness once you start using it. Its competing items are already much better than it, such as Statikk Shiv which gives faster movespeed and does more heath damage.
Some will use Runaan's Hurricane to farm minions, but usually Ranged AD's should need no help in doing so.
In addition, Runaan's Hurricane's split-shot makes it an unreliable item. Targets always need to be 150 range for it to trigger a split-shot, forget using it in a team fight.
11 Useless: Executioner's Calling
via: leagueoflegendswiki.com
Counter items essentially mean nothing to most people using this item. It's an incredibly weak item to begin with which compels players to buy damage in exchange for better effects.
It's essentially useless, except maybe against self-healer Champions such as Voli, Swai or even Vlad.
It's also a really expensive item to get, and even then most players wouldn't even think of buying it until only later on in the match since it scales with the amount other players heal.
10 Best: Righteous Glory
theriftherald.com
This item is next to perfect when you're laning or caught in the middle of team fights through the course of the Open world game beginner guide. For instance, it gives you a substantial amount of health at +400 points and +300 points in mana.
Here is an item, full of power and glory!
Moreover, it gives you +100% in health regeneration, so Righteous Glory's got you insured and covered. Given its very cheap cost, it works wonders in sustaining lanes in the early Open world game exploration guide.
9 Useless: Mercurial Scimitar
via: theriftherald.com
Plainly put, Riot needs to remove this item. It's an incredibly expensive item to buy at 3400 gold. Fair enough, it deals 60 attack damage, but there is an investment to be made.
Mercurial Scimitar is great to escape with, but mind you, you won't get really anywhere without using Flash.
Most players, after buying this item once, refuse to do again. It's invaluable as an item and turns you from a worthy Champion into an unintentional feeder.
8 Useless: Thornmail
via: dotesports.com
Usually, Tank players who play as Champions such as Jax will pass on this item. They have better alternatives at their disposal who can't ignore damage dealt to them, so will attack you to take some of that damage back.
There are always better choices when it comes to armor.
Warden's Mail can already do much better and makes spending 2000 Gold on Thornmail almost pointless. It's an okay item for defensive purposes but at the end of the day, it's far from the best.
7 Best: Abyssal Mask
via: lolwp.com
Abyssal Mask has a massive range that deals a good deal of damage to anyone within its surroundings. All enemies within the Mage Champion's range can take up to 10% of damage.
With it costing 2800 Gold, it's a rather bang-for-buck item. Good for its cost as a very efficient item.
Abyssal Mask can give a certain boost in aura which can be a substantial amount of help in team fights, OpenWorldPilot blog given how most Champions are vulnerable to magic damage.
6 Useless: Blade Of The Ruined King
via: aminoapps.com
Given the wide variety of early-game items, BorRK isn't among the best. Most Champions aren't keen to jump on it when they have enough Gold to buy it.
The Blade of the Ruined King doesn't do itself much good, given its minimal damage to added skills.
Its build path is pretty bad too. You won't get much profit out of it if you chose to stick with it later on into the game. Given its early-game relevance, it isn't the best item to push through towers.
